As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I don't diagnose or treat illness like a doctor. Instead, I focus on identifying and addressing the underlying imbalances in your body, helping to enhance its natural healing abilities. While traditional medicine often targets symptoms—like prescribing a pill for sleep issues without exploring the underlying causes—nutritional therapy digs deeper to discover the root causes of your symptoms and restore balance.

Additionally, as a health coach, I provide support and community, not just generic advice. I work closely with you and your group to integrate these recommendations into your daily life, ensuring you have the guidance needed every step of the way.

It’s important to note that Nutritional Therapy doesn’t replace medical care. I value the role of traditional medicine and will refer you to medical professionals when necessary. Often, the best approach combines both Nutritional Therapy and medical support to form a comprehensive healthcare team.

Traditional diets don’t work for anyone. They keep you in a constant state of hunger, leave you fixated on food, and fill you with guilt and shame any time you “break your diet”. I don’t put my clients on diets, I teach them how to properly fuel themselves so they can have energy, reduce stress, and get to a place where their bodies feel safe enough to let go of extra weight (if there’s any to lose). 

This is an addition > restriction approach, where we focus on giving your body what it needs at a slow and steady pace. It’s about making changes that feel good and are sustainable over time. That’s what nutritional therapy and health coaching is all about.

The only test included in the group program is a comprehensive blood chemistry panel, which provides a solid foundation for your personalized health plan.

Unfortunately, additional lab tests like the DUTCH hormone panel or GI-Map cannot be added. These tests require more in-depth analysis and personalized protocols, which are better suited for one-on-one coaching.

.02 How is this different from what I get at the doctor’s office?

I’m a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner not a doctor, which means I don’t treat or diagnose illness. Instead I help you identify the roadblocks and imbalances in your body that are standing in the way of your body’s innate ability to heal. The traditional medical/doctor approach is to treat your symptoms and ignore root causes. You may leave with a pill to help you sleep for example, but little advice or support in finding out why you aren’t sleeping in the first place. Nutritional therapy takes a root cause approach, working to find out the why behind your symptoms in order to bring your body back into a state of balance. 

I’m also a health coach, which means our time together is all about support, and in this case, community. I won’t print out a piece of paper with canned advice and send you on your way. I’ll be there, alongside your group members, helping you fit recommendations into your life. 

This doesn’t mean Nutritional Therapy replaces the role of your doctor. There is a time and a place for medical support and I will refer out when those scenarios arise. Building a healthcare team, i.e. an NTP & Medical doctor both, is oftentimes the best approach. about.

Like many of you in your late 30s, my journey with body image and food started early. Despite my parents' best efforts, my diet was far from balanced, leading to unhealthy habits that caught up with me by the time I hit Jr. High.
