I first connected with Sarah when her midwives referred her for support around gestational diabetes. It became clear pretty quickly that she already had a strong foundation and great instincts. My role was less about overhauling everything and more about validating what she knew, simplifying the plan, and helping her think ahead to postpartum. I’m so glad she chose to continue into Mama Restore after her baby arrived. Watching her follow through in a steady, realistic way and build systems that actually fit her life made this one of the most rewarding coaching experiences I’ve had. Transformations like this, rooted in mindset and sustainability rather than quick fixes, are the ones that last.

“Plans are of little importance, but planning is essential.” That quote ended up describing my journey with Amber better than I ever expected.
I didn’t come to Amber looking to lose weight, I came looking for support. I signed up when I was six months pregnant with baby #2 because I wanted to give my postpartum self a gift: a way to nourish my body after making two humans in two years. It felt like a loving, responsible decision at the time.

Fast forward to early postpartum, when our sessions were about to start, and my sleep-deprived brain thought, What did I do? Who the hell has time for this? I was skeptical. I already “knew” how to eat well, and I was convinced this wouldn’t change anything. (Honestly, thank goodness I had already paid, or I might have backed out.) Looking back, that wasn’t logic talking, it was fear of change.
Six months later, I can say this journey was about so much more than food. What I didn’t realize was how much I needed to learn how to make things easier, not better, not more perfect, just easier. Amber helped me let go of the pressure to do everything right and instead focus on doing a few things consistently.
I stopped seeing food as another task to manage and started seeing it as a way to support myself, even on the hardest days. I learned to release guilt, to view taking care of myself as an act of self-love instead of another obligation, and to trust that doing less, but doing it consistently, actually works. The constant energy crashes, the decision fatigue, the “why am I so cranky?” moments from not fueling myself…they’ve been replaced with a sense of steadiness.
Even when life is busy and sleep is still in short supply, I feel calm and grounded in my body.
That steadiness has carried into everything else. I’m more confident making meals from what’s already in my pantry and freezer, less stressed about feeding myself, and proud of the example I’m setting for my kids. This wasn’t a quick fix. It was thoughtful, realistic support through pregnancy, postpartum, and working motherhood that helped me build systems I can actually sustain.
In the end, this was the best postpartum gift I could have given myself, learning how to fuel my body so I can show up steady for my family, and learning to see that care as an act of love for them and for me.
Thank you, Amber. A million times over.”
