How is it possible that January felt like it lasted forever, yet February flew by in the blink of an eye? I still can’t quite grasp this whole “passing of time” phenomenon—it always keeps me on my toes. Even though it flew by, February was packed with highlights for me, including several in-person events, a successful online webinar, and a magical mini-trip to Disney World for the Disney Princess Half Marathon. March certainly has its work cut out if it hopes to match February’s energy levels. With that said, here are a few little things that I’ve been loving this month!
A client recently introduced me to Everyday Dose, a coffee alternative with a touch less caffeine and added adaptogens for an extra boost. I’ve been looking to reduce my caffeine consumption, so this seemed like a perfect fit—and it truly was! Instead of my usual cold brew in the mornings, I’ve switched to a scoop of Everyday Dose, a scoop of collagen, and my regular almond milk. I’m really enjoying it and I’ve noticed a more steady, less anxious feeling throughout the day—a definite win in my book.
I’ve been trying to shake off my Onyx Storm book hangover for weeks, and I think I’ve finally found the cure: the Legacy Series by Melissa K. Roehrich. This romantic fantasy is a bit darker than my usual reads, but I’ve loved every second of it. The core of the story revolves around descendants of gods known as “Legacy,” who use fae as both slaves and sources of power, while mortals are largely disregarded. The male protagonist is a Legacy who untraditionally chooses a fae who doesn’t fit the usual mold. This decision leads to a bunch of chaos, because duh. I’m currently reading the third book and can’t put it down.
During our Disney trip, I made a quick stop at the Uniqlo store at Disney Springs to pick up a long-sleeve running shirt. I had only packed a tank and the race day weather was looking pretty chilly. While there, I stumbled upon these crop tanks with built-in, semi-padded bras and instantly fell in love. They’re incredibly comfy and the pads are sewn in, so they don’t come loose in the wash. I plan to live in these tanks all summer long. Highly recommend!
I’ve always been a powder girlie when it comes to bronzer and blush but I recently switched to cream using these sticks by Jane Iredale (my fav clean makeup brand). I have a bronzer, blush, and highlighter stick and they work so well. I use a fluffy brush to blend them in and it turns out perfect every time.
Sorry not sorry for sharing these Doughlicious Bites because they are our newest obsession. A bunch of the flavors are gluten and dairy-free, which is rare in a treat like this. I don’t know what else to say other than beware, it’s hard to stop at just one. We get them at Whole Foods by the way.
And that wraps up this month’s edition of “The Little Things.” I hope you found something useful, whether it’s a new book to add to your TBR or the perfect tank for the summer. I’ll see you again next month!
